Slave Revolt army

of all the armies I've sold the one that I liked the most and wanted to do again was the Slave Revolt army. There were large slave populations in Carthage as well as Roman and Greece and slave revolts occurred on Scicily prior to Spartacus.

Andy had given me some medieval peasants and picts which along with some GB picts and some old WA Germans and a few Perry Mhadists make up the bulk so far (with assorted heads arms shields etc. I'll buy Foundry gladiators to use as Spartacus Revolt and then drop these for dome other revolts.

Here's progress so far.

They only hate Romans though. At the tournament i played 2 Macedonian, 1 Pyrrhic and 1 Roman army so for most of the time they were poor morale, rubbish units.

The Fiery Rollers are good though!

Slave Revolt cav done. Just as the Roman empire brought together people from all over the world (all in the name of serving Rome of course- not to promote peace and harmony) the minis are a hacked together bunch of parts from Goth, Saxon, Ancient German, Numidian, Mahdist, Afghan, Persian, Pict models!

Here's the firey rollers for the Slave Revolt army. The addition of some red (fire) cotton wool and they're ready to strike terror into the enemy (as well as barbecue them).

Here's some slingers and Gladiators.

Based on the last game (Slaves v Hoplites) the slingers may actually be the more deadly of these two units

Hate to say it but it looks like the Slaves are first out of the blocks with their own heavy weapons.

However their rather poor BS 2 may be indicated by the apparent disagreement of crew and advisers as to which direction to fire in .
