Nice o Guys.
Pete the rules are written for SYW but can be used from Spanish Succession upto AWI. Two of the battle reports in the original book are a SYW battle between Prussia/Austria and the other is Bunker hill for AWI.
A review of the book is here http://pijlieblog.blogspot.com…charles-grant-review.html
The rules were written in the 70's and a very much old school hence not everyones cup of char...but I believe the old nostalgia rules still work today with some little tweaks. Mine are all individually based as per the rules but I might look at getting some card etc for movement trays.
I will bring a few of the books to the club I have. Some written by Charles Grant and some others by his son.
lots of ideas for imag-nations if you like to go down that route and mini-campaigns.

Just throwing it out there.
I mostly wargame Historical and a bit of fantasy but my real love is the old school wargaming of Charles Grant and Peter Young. The first rules I ever gamed with. I am in the process of building 2 armies based on Charles Grants 'The Wargame'. Twelve 30 man units so far...
Is anyone else in the club interested in Imagi-nations old school wargaming. I understand its not everyones cup of Char
Below is a quick battle report I did consisting of a small action....another glorious win for my Lad and defeat for me...

Just uploaded the unboxing on youtube. Its a big piece

Just recieved a EPIX Haven gatehouse today I purchased of Ebay. I will be doing an unboxing review on my youtube channel later today.
Its a beast....and weighs a ton....lets just say I bought a jocky wheel for my caravan at the same time and thought it was that when delivered! looks like it would be good for D&D or Frostgrave scenerios. I will probably be bringing it down the club on Sunday if anyone wants to take a look. I was lucky enough to get it for £24 + 4postage but looks like you can get them for around £50 and the stand alone tower is £40 buy it now. Think they retail about £100+

I have a small/med construct on order and have 2 Ettins from Descent 2 that can be used as Snow Trolls if needed. 1 is painted up this week with blue skin and will get the other one done over the weekend.

Really enjoyed the test game last night with Daves snow camo figures. Thank Andy for explaining the rules to me an Dave. Was a good even game with lots of big moments.
lessons learned...
- You can do more damage to yourself with spells than the Enemy (Especially with mine and Daves throws)
- Men at arms are tough. Well one of mine was...Slicing through Daves warband before being finally felled by Daves Archer
- Archers can kill Wizards!
-
Anyone doing any frostgrave games this sunday. Managed to speed paint my minis and wouldnt mind a test game before the campaign starts
-
Looks Great Craig....can see my Archer hunkering down behind that wall taking pot shots!
-
I introduce Ezahr Dunkelwasser a rather dark Elemental Wizard with a rather short temper...and his apprentice Ingram the mute...who criticised his master one to many times and thus lost his tongue in the process.
-
i have ordered some figs today. I paint quite quick...poor but quick thanks to army painter dip. Am away weekend of 16th but would love to do some learner games before March if I am OK to join the campaign.
Thanks

Hello All,
I am quite new the area and was hoping to Pop down to the club this sunday or next. I wargame mostly Historical but dabble in Imagi-nations and All Quiet on the Martian front as can be seen on my few Youtube posts. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCB_4SINewmIkFm47wkFfbNg
Getting back into Wargames after a few years and have a small collection of boardgames...spartacus/War of the Ring/Game of thones/Hannibal/space hulk etc.
Is there anyone particular I should speak to.
many thanks and look forward to meeting all. I only live on Hawkley hall so quite close.
