Nothing wrong with LR2 but those deep infantry blocks really have that Ancients vibe for me.
I can understand that Pete, the WAB multiple ranks look better than small 12 man units

I have found the OG lines to be very hit and miss, I bought a pack of there Pict archers 2nd hand from Colonel Bills and there ok as unit fillers
Out of curiosity what modifications are you making to Lion Rampant to make them more suitable for ancients? I know there was an article in an issue of WSS about using 1st edition for chariot era games.
I am really loving the narrative of this campaign, looking forward to the next installment!
I have to admit this has always been one of my favorites, I blame Bernard Cornwell's Winter King Trilogy and my love of early to late dark ages! It'll be great when victrix release there Early Saxons plastic set next year as I can reinforce my all metal army!
Fair enough, I know Lardies did a set as well but there rules I've found a bit too different for my liking tbh. I'd forgotten in the new edition of Lion Rampant there are dark age lists
I don't know if you've tried them but Dux Bellorum from Osprey Games by Daniel Mersey is a great set of rules for this period
are these the Warlord Games plastic and metal minis?
Beautiful work Craig!
nice! what rules are you guys planing on using?
Great cheers Andy!
I was wondering if anyones off to the York show next month as I've a tenner to pass on for Craig and I was wondering if someone could bring my Frostgrave books too and we can arrange to meet at the show? PM please and we'll arrange something ta
From reading your experiences playing it I am really glad I didn't buy myself a set tbh! Think I'll stick with Grimdark Future too!
so many releases, New Kingdom Egyptians in plastic will be useful for me and my Of Gods And Mortals stuff
they've come out lovely and crisp Andy
hello all!
I'm planning to come over the border on Sunday to get my Frostgrave books. I was wondering if anyone with knowledge of using an airbrush would be willing to give me a beginners lesson again? I've not really used mine much at all and it doesn't seem to want to work despite all my tinkering!?
Drokk looks like a fantastic game! I have a strong suspicious I will be buying the Slaine one! I've bought Baylor already
where's it from Brian?
Hello from over the border!
I got a pack of Perry's Prussian Landwehr last year and I finally finished them yesterday! So I have one solid 18 man unit and another to assemble and paint soon!
You guys have been inspiring me with your painting and campaign to get my Prussians and French finished so I can have a game when I come over for a Sunday visit or play with a mate at my local club.
Outstanding work as ever Craig!
I really love the old school style trolls as well, I can see me picking some up for my Oathmark orc and goblin army when I do one
